Flash, Blu-ray and HTML 5 Testing
Flash 10.1 Video Playback

For our Flash 10.1 testing we played our favorite 1080p high bit-rate video, “Big Buck Bunny”, for 120 seconds and measured the CPU utilization during that time.

Both the AMD E-350 and the Intel SU2300 system played back this difficult Flash 1080p stream without a hassle but the Atom D510 system dropped frames much too often making the experience unwatchable.

Blu-ray Video Playback

Blu-ray testing was done with an external USB drive on the Atom and Celeron systems and via an internal drive on the AMD Zacate platform.

All of the systems played back the Blu-ray discs without much complaint though the CPU utilization was obviously higher in our D510 configuration leaving you less room for background processes or doing other tasks.

HTML5 Fish Demo

The “Fish” demo is an HTML5 overlay test that stresses lower-performing machines for reliability in future web applications.

In this test, higher frame rates are obviously better, and both the E-350 from AMD and the Intel SU2300 CULV part perform pretty well.  The Atom D510 performs at about half the level.

HTML5 Webvizbench Demo

Webvizbench attempts to emulate a future web-based application written in HTML5 with video overlays, animations and more.

This test again puts the Intel CULV+ION and the AMD APU platform at parity but leaves the Atom D510 in the dust.
