The 147mm x 123mm x 160mm Thermalright Silver Arrow is another high end heatsink you will not find in any but the largest of cases, and at 825g it will be attached to sturdy motherboards. Apart from the choice of case there is the motherboard layout to consider, this cooler has a pair of fans cooling two well separated towers of fins so the placement of the RAM slots will be an important consideration. All of that weight and size has its advantages when it comes to performance, not only does it now sit at the top of the coolers that [H]ard|OCP has tested for its heat dissipation abilities it is also one of the quietest. At the time they wrote the article the cooler was going for $75 though it seems currently rather scarce at any price.
“Thermalright’s new processor air cooler is surely a no-compromise unit that will not be for everyone, much less every enthusiast. It is bigger than Texas, or Alaska for that matter. The Silver Arrow is destined to be displayed in many a chassis’ clear side panel. Does it have what it takes when it comes to performance?”Here are some more Cases & Cooling reviews from around the web:
