My mix of benchmarks looks to uncover differences that are more aimed at motherboard performance rather than CPU or GPU bottlenecks. Considering how closely the Extreme is related to the Formula board, do not expect any kind of separation between these boards in overall performance.SiSoft Sandra 2010
I use this benchmark to make sure that CPU performance across the boards are comparable, as it would be the first major sign of a problem with a BIOS implementation. It also is a good test of drive and memory performance.
There looks to be a small hitch in the Extreme when it comes to buffered reads from the drive, but otherwise it is essentially identical to the other 890FX boards.
