BIOS Features
One of the most anticipated features I personally have been excited about with the P8P67 Pro is the new Extensible Firmware Inferface or EFI BIOS. The new BIOS is a fully featured graphical interface where users can finally use their mouse instead of just keyboard commands to adjust the BIOS. We flashed the BIOS to version 1003, which adds these performance enhancements:
1. Updates CPU ratio item to allow automatic activation of Intel Turbo Boost when CPU Ratio is above the Intel specification.
2. Enhance PCH native SATA performance.
3. Enhance USB 3.0 / PCIE performance.
4. Enhance USB 3.0 compatibility under BIOS setup screen.
5. Enhance USB compatibility.
Note: ASUS just put out a new BIOS version 1204 on Jan. 27 that reduces the system’s boot time if clearing RTC.
EFI BIOS Utility in EZ Mode (main screen) – Users can change the boot priority and system performance just by clicking on an icon that represents different hardware components and automated performance configurations. Users can also change the language they see as well as monitor the board’s temps, voltage, and overall system fan speeds.
