The retail packaging for the P67A-UD4 is quite attractive and focuses on tells consumers about their three-year warranty, unlocked performance capabilities, double copper PCB. They also let users know that the board supports the second-generation i5s and i7s and includes the now infamous P67 chipset.

The back panel of the retail box goes into a lot more detail about the board’s USB 3.0 features and power management software. It also includes a small studio photo of the board and discusses the benefits of having 2 ounces of copper in the PCB.

Here’s the P67A-UD4 in all its glory. Gigabyte integrated a unique low-profile design for the board’s heatsinks and also used a black color scheme for the DIMMs and PCIe/PCI slots. I think the board looks very streamlined with plenty of room around the CPU socket for third-party heatsinks and watercoolers. They also organized all the audio, USB 2.0/3.0, and firewire headers at the bottom of the board.

The back of the PCB includes a small aluminum backplate behind the CPU socket and that’s about it.

The back I/O panel includes support for eight USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, two eSATA ports, Gigabit LAN, optical and coaxial S/PDIF Out connectors, legacy PS/2 port, and eight-channel audio jacks. This is a full-featured set of options that should look very attractive to a variety of consumers.

This motherboard gives users the option to setup dual graphics cards in SLI or CrossfireX configurations. It includes two PCIe x16 and x6, three PCIe x1, and two legacy PCI slots to give users a very rounded amount of options for modern and legacy hardware.

The bottom of the motherboard includes a communications port and four-pin fan connector.

It also has three USB 2.0 headers (only two pictured in photo above) that support up to six USB 2.0 devices.

Here’s a shot of the third USB 2.0 header and the front panel USB 3.0 connector. I also see a label for the on/off charging feature that I assume is connected to the USB 2.0 header on the left side of the photo above. You can also see the NEC host controller chip in this photo that manages the USB 3.0 ports on the P67A-UD4.

The front panel power and reset headers are color-coded and easily readable to help PC builders connect everything without using the user manual.

This board supports four SATA 3GB/s ports through the P67 chipset and two SATA 6GB/s ports via the Marvell 88SE9128 chip onboard.

The four DIMMs above support up to 32GBs of DDR3 2133/1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz memory.

Here’s a close-up shot of the CPU socket and surrounding power components. Gigabyte uses premium Japanese Ferrite core chokes and driver MOSFETs to achieve higher power transfer and increased efficiency. They also left plenty of room to install a third-party heatsink or watercooler.
Included Extras

Gigabyte included a couple key accessories including four SATA data cables.

They also added a color-coded I/O backplate, SLI bridge, and Gigabyte case badge.

Gigabyte helped out non-English speaking users with a multilingual installation guide and user manual.

Lastly, Gigabyte added a small pamphlet regarding the use of LGA 1155 processors with this board and a driver CD that also includes some their overclocking and power management software.
