If you’ve ever used a touchscreen desktop computer you probably know that while they’re cool, they lack the functionality to replace a keyboard and mouse. Lifting up your arms constantly to touch a screen is the antonym of ergonomic.
HP has noticed this, most likely because they’ve been the company most strongly pushing touchscreen All-in-One PCs. The new HP TouchSmart products – the TouchSmart 610 and the TouchSmart 9300 – will be shipping with a stand that makes it possible for the entire PC to recline. This will make using the 23 inch, 1080p touchscreen much more comfortable.
The TouchSmart 610, which is the consumer model, will come with standard Beats Audio premium audio and touch-optimized applications for services such as Netflix and Twitter. The 610 will also debut a new feature called HP LinkUp, which makes it possible to wirelessly control a notebook PC with the TouchSmart 610’s display through a home network. This model makes use of a Nehalem based Intel Core i5 processor, so it will be available February the 9th at a price of $899.99.

Businesses will be more interested in the TouchSmart 9300, which has the new reclining stand but also supports wall mounting. The 9300 comes with a one-year on-site service plan as well. Unlike its consumer cousin, the 9300 uses Sandy Bridge based Intel Core processors. This means it isn’t expected to ship until May, and pricing remains uncertain.
