Final Thoughts and Conclusions
Like its predecessors, the new Seasonic X Series 560W power supply incorporates several significant advances in PC power supply design that result in excellent performance, high efficiency and the ability to operate in silent-fanless mode at lower power levels. Moving the +3.3V and +5V VRMs to the modular DC connector board was a very smart move and I’m sure has many others wondering “why didn’t we think of that”? Add to that a good assortment of all modular cables, green design innovations and a 5-year warranty and you have one very good power supply. This one is destined for my next HTPC build – Highly recommended! The Seasonic X Series 560W power supply typically sells for around $120~$130 USD ($120.99 Newegg.com, January 2011).
