The Zalman ZM-MH200 has a rare combination of support for today’s latest storage devices that are used in smartphones, digital cameras, and other consumer devices. The lack of support for USB 3.0 and SATA 3 is very disappointing because we will see these standards flourish in 2011. Most consumers also want a device like this to support all legacy and modern storage devices so they don’t need to purchase additional adapters. However, the style and layout of the device is exceptional and easy to use and setup.
The Zalman ZM-MH200 is available at Newegg for $69.99 with free shipping. Consumers can also purchase this device at Amazon.com for $78.48 or Buy.com for $75.99.
We’d like to thank our friends at Zalman for providing the ZM-MH200 Hub for our review today. I commend Zalman for packing support for so many storage devices into this gorgeous docking station, but the lack of USB3/SATA3 might make this product less attractive for consumers. The support for 3.5″ and 2.5″ hard drives and solid state drives is definitely useful, and I was highly impressed with the addition of a micro SD port so I could connect my smartphone’s storage device. The price point may be a bit more than some consumers will pay for a docking station with these features, but overall I think Zalman did a great job designing the ZM-MH200 and making it functional and stylish all at the same time.
- Support for 3.5″ and 2.5″ hard drives and solid state drives
- Support for USB 2.0, SD, and micro SD devices
- Highly stylish and functional
- Somewhat expensive
- No support for USB 3.0 or SATA 3 devices
