CF vs. Hydra: DiRT 2 and Far Cry 2
DiRT 2
One of the first games to actually utilize DX11 in a meaningful way, DiRT 2 is still one of the best looking racers around. Much of the technology used in this title was transferred over to F1 2010. I still prefer DiRT 2 a bit more. Ultra presets were enabled, with 4X AA and 16X AF.
Just as in BF:BC2, we see a small performance increase in the Hydra solution over the single card, but native Crossfire just smokes it.
Far Cry 2
This particular benchmark has been around quite some time. This was one of the first really good implementations of a DX10 game, and the wide open vistas and advanced shading effects still make it a great looking game and a solid environment for testing. Very High presets were enabled with 4X AA and 16X AF.
Hydra makes a better name for itself here, but it still does not match the scaling of Crossfire. At the highest resolution, we see the best scaling from this particular combination on Hydra. This is again a disappointment for Hydra, but at least it is in the running in this particular benchmark.
As in for up-to-date
As in for up-to-date applications, I am looking for a reliable reader of exe files for some of my gadgets: zune, smart phone. I don`t know for sure how these things work, but as long as we`re talking about serious evolution here, futuristic design, I believe that there is a direct proportional development of easiness to handle technology and revolutionary shapes which I happen to admire a lot.
