We again see a nice jump in burst rate, but in this test a spinning drive is not really going to be held back by a SATA 6G interface.

HD Tach USB 2.0

As mentioned before, AMD has had a bad reputation for all kinds of I/O issues with their southbridges.  The SB850 has fixed pretty much all of these issues, but it is still good to check out if it is implemented correctly on all of these boards.  For these tests I use the Sharkoon USB 3.0 drive bay and one of the WD Caviar Black 1TB drives.

We again see very little fluctuation here in performance, and USB 2.0 really is maxed out.
