The Obsidian Series gets a little brother
The Corsair Obsidian Series 650D is a smaller and less expensive version of the 700D/800D cases that we have come to love. Does the new feature set stand up to previous cases though?
Corsair has had a good run as of late with a host of new products that fall WELL outside the original memory vendor stereotype. I mean, seriously? We have had cases like the Obsidian 800D, power supplies like the HX1000W, headphones and speakers like the HS1A and the SP2500 and of course the water coolers in the vein of the H50. The list goes on but Corsair has obviously done a tremendous job of expanding a roadmap to stay relevant and among the most cutting edge enthusiast companies on the map.

Today we are going to take a look at the Corsair Obsidian Series 650D chassis, a case that follows in the footsteps of the popular (but expensive) 800D and 700D options but lowers the price, and the height, quite a bit.

Priced at $199 on Newegg as of this publication, it is hard to not see the 650D from Corsair as a bit overpriced, but the design quality, build quality and unique features seem to counter our initial impressions in that regard.

I’m curious as to how much space there is on the backside, as my current case I have to smash the crap out of the door to get it closed.
@Phil360 – The Raven RVO2 is quite quiet from what I’ve read/heard thus far. It’s price tag is about the same as the 650 as well.

I just got this case about 2 weeks ago. There’s enough space to close the side closely.
Can the 650D take a full size
Can the 650D take a full size PSU? I have a 1000w Silverstone Zeus that’s rectangular, not square, and i’m wondering if it will be able to fit in the case, especially if I want to put one of the hard drive bays on the bottom of the case.
Thanks

For what it’s worth, I just finished a build in this case. The PSU mounting area in the bottom of the case has an adjustable bracket that secures the inside-facing side of the PSU (opposite the side of the PSU with the power cord connector.) Based on this alone, I am certain that your PSU would fit just fine assuming there’s not some other feature besides the Zeus’ shape.
