SiSoft Sandra 2011

The latest version of SiSoft Sandra offers up a lot of new features including GPU performance, OpenCL, etc.

AMD A8-3850 Llano Desktop Processor Review - Can AMD compete with Sandy Bridge? - Graphics Cards 17

The CPU computing performance of both the AMD A8-3850 and Core i3-2100 isn’t going to impress anyone based on our SiSoft results here.  Even though the AMD processor has true quad cores and the Core i3-2100 only has a dual core CPU with HyperThreading, the higher frequency and IPC of the Sandy Bridge x86 design is able to move it ahead of Llano.  In fact, Llano is just barely able to edge past the results from the Core i5-661 Clarkdale processor of Intel’s previous generation.

Memory bandwidth also isn’t changing much over the previous AMD designs and we find the 13 GB/s from the CPU just behind the nearly 15 GB/s on the Core i3-2100.  Still, the numbers here on the memory side are much more respectable and you would hope that would be the case with the dependency of the GPU performance lying here as well.
