PCMark Vantage
Futuremark’s newest benchmark suite, PCMark Vantage, was released in 2010 we published an initial article on the new software that looked at some CPU performance as well as providing overviews for all the individual testing suites it uses and what kind of applications they emulate. The new Vantage software takes a much more real-world user-scenario approach to testing that previous PCMark software and as such deserves more time our benchmark analysis.
In a confirmation of sorts, our PCMark Vantage testing results seemed to sum up when we recorded in our other benchmarks. The P67A-GD80 cruises when it is performing general PC operations, but seems to have some difficulty when it needs to be used during basic PC gaming. We noticed about a 5 percent decrease in performance in our gaming tests in PCMark Vantage and this follows suit with our previous tests in Metro 2033 and Just Cause 2. This board is pretty solid throughout most of our CPU intensive applications, but falls short a bit in GPU-based applications.
Great review.. I’ve been
Great review.. I’ve been debating on the different boards and I think for my first high-end build I’m going with the GD80.
I’m surprised you guys are
I’m surprised you guys are just now getting around to reviewing this board especially when the Z68 version costs just a little bit more.
The unique thing about this board is it has 10 USB 3.0 ports, which I don’t think any other motherboard has quite so many.
