A Detailed Look
The Antec HCG-750 power supply features a two tone (black and red) paint job. The enclosure measures just over 7” long (180mm) and the PSU weighs in at 6.0 lbs (2.7 kg). The back panel contains the main power receptacle and On-Off switch. All the High Current Gamer series power supplies incorporate universal AC input (automatically adjusts to the AC line voltage) and Active PFC.
The single top mounted 135mm cooling fan is made by ADDA (ADN512UB-A90). This particular model features dual ball bearings and is rated for up to 0.44A at 12V. To help minimize noise, the fan speed is automatically controlled by the internal component temperature (speeds up as the combined load and temperature increases).
The HCG-750 power supply comes with a good complement of cables with gold plated connectors. All of the cables are hard-wired into the PSU chassis, which eliminates potential problems caused by the added resistance of modular cable connectors and helps lower the overall cost a little. The wiring harnesses measure from 22” to 26” long to the first connector and are covered with black plastic mesh sleeving.
The HCG-750 power supply comes fitted with four 8-pin PCI-E connectors (6-pin/2-pin split) to support various high-end video card configurations.

I recently bought the PSU
I recently bought the PSU from Newegg for future upgrades and to make sure my new HD6950 2GB has enough power. I have to say I couldn’t be happier. If modular connections aren’t a must this is an excellent power supply.
