Just a heads-up that it is
Just a heads-up that it is not appearing the RSS feed.
That was my fault actually –
That was my fault actually – forgot to upload the new RSS before I jumped on my flight. It should have been up a couple hours after you posted that though.
Still waiting for that
Still waiting for that video… 😛
Curious why does it take SO
Curious why does it take SO LONG for your videos not just this one, but it seems ALL of them are always late!
To me it would seem that this would be a TOP priority to me it shows either back seat or your stretched way to thin BECAUSE IT IS EVERY PODCAST.
I believe if you were to get the podcast posted in a timely manner (the next day!) PCper would have a bigger following because most sites do not have this thought process or they simple think no one else can do what they do. Which we all know nobody is replaceable and it is only a matter of time that someone says hey we can do that faster or better and bang to late! Techies are an impatient lot are quick to search out other resources.
Do not take me wrong, I think you guys do an excellent job on topics and hardware! It is the PAINFUL wait and the oh sh…. thats 2 weeks old or worse yet a month old news the only company that gets away doing that is apple (talking bout the prices of there product, but it is there prompt client services that balances there there attitude of TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.
With that being said are you guys that comfy and do you think there is room for improvement?
I truly hope you think the same as I, cause there a lot of people out there that this REALLY irritates and what I’ve seen from your podcast’s that I can tell, Ryan, you fall into this category of waiting irritates the crap out of you and you have little or no tolerance for waiting or being strung along.
Please reply in your comments here so your followers can see your post because I’m sure this is a topic you hear about ALL the time EVERY week we just want know what type of plan you have to keep your groupies from leaving the flock because they are tired of OLD NEWS!
And just to show you how they feel ask your followers to post if it is a big deal or not. And in fact if you are a follower reading this post jump on the ship right here and now on this comment and shout out to them hell yeah please address this now to be frank its getting OLD
Hey LeRoy, I wanted to
Hey LeRoy, I wanted to comment on this directly.
I thank you for your comments and for continuing to support PC Perspective. We know we have fallen behind in many cases on getting the podcast VIDEO out in a timely fashion and this is exactly why we haven’t set out to create an RSS feed for that particular distribution method. If you NEED the most up to date version of the podcast, the audio is usually posted within 12-24 hour of us recording it.
That being said, one of our goals is to make the podcast video available sooner. We are re-doing our entire studio on our end to try and make that happen. But keep in mind, if we get 1000 views on YouTube of a podcast video, we get many many times that in the audio form, so our priority HAS to be on that distro method.
Again though, I thank you for your comments and just know that we are aware of your thoughts!
Hi Leroy,
I’m sorry to hear
Hi Leroy,
I’m sorry to hear that you are not happy with the current situation regarding the video version of the podcast lagging behind the audio version, and I want to let you know that we are working on speeding up the turnaround between live stream and archived video being posted. The transcoding processes take time, as does transfering the large video files across the internet and our intranets. We are working on streamlining the process, and as a fan of the video version myself I can see where you are coming from in wishing it was available sooner.
In regards to improvements, we are enthusiasts as well and are always looking to improve the site, our understanding, and our relationships with our readers and viewers.
Please understand; however, that these aspects and goals are going to take time to accomplish. We are working on things although we may not be talking about them publicly just yet.
Thank you for your comment Leroy. I will certainly take your concerns seriously, and I ask that you give us time to develop, test, and implement improvements for our fans.
Leroy,
Actually, while our
Leroy,
Actually, while our podcast tailors primarily to the audio format, the video of our podcast is available *before* the audio:
http://live.twit.tv (Wednesday at 10 PM EST / 7 PM PST)
Said video also appears almost immediately after via other sites such as justin.tv.
If you have such an urgent desire for up to the minute news, you have only to watch us record it live.
Best,
Allyn Malventano, CTNC, USN

coming soon!
Has even less
coming soon!
Has even less meaning for PC-Per, then when my girlfriend is dressing up to go out for a party.

Actually my girlfriend never
Actually my girlfriend never managed to be this late, that the next party (read potcast), started and missed the hole party that was on. 0_o
I agree with everything
I agree with everything LeRoyD said.
I just wanted to thank Ryan,
I just wanted to thank Ryan, Tim, and Al, for commenting directly. That’s very professional of you all for actually reading the comments posted by the readers/fans, and responding! Although i do agree the video takes a while, and it sucks waiting for it. I do watch live every week , but hate having to sift through the Justin.tv archive.(I like to watch twice, i know i’m strange)
Also want to say that i learn a lot every week and thank you for it.
Ryan, Allyn and Tim,
Thank
Ryan, Allyn and Tim,
Thank you for your response it shows that dedication to your followers is a thought at best!
I apologize for the outburst and the caps the intent was to drive the point home as yours was too, Ryan, touche!
I’m a lead construction worker as well and understand the chaos of re-modeling and that the audio will take front seat before video on two different fields (larger following and easier processing) thank you for your insight.
Allyn thank you for your comment as well.
I’m aware of the time of the live feeds but unfortunately I’m a contractors muppet that works long hrs. to make the customer happy and crew asd well(probably your guys as well does the same) then there is the never ending prep for the next gig so my lil needs of video cast has to take a back seat most times.
The reason I did this the way I did was simple every time someone would ask “when’s the video” the only reply would be “coming soon”. And judging Ryan’s disposition I knew he would stand to the challenge as he did. (It is a ploy to get a reaction from a alpha personality, sorry Ryan) to see where this site’s attitude is at and if a genuine statement of the reason would come forth.
I’m sure it rattled your cage to be called out in front and center and I apologize for it, but I get tired of lip service and it is a what I’ve learned over the years if you “push buttons” you get the raw emotion behind the lip service as well and I did.
Hats off to you guys and good luck with the remodel please I mean no dis-respect towards anyone here thank for your responses guys!
NARG ….I missed the live
NARG ….I missed the live feed again!
: ( I know “coming soon” lol thanks guys
