Performance per Dollar

One thing AMD typically has going for them in terms of the CPU race is price – they know they have to set the cost of their products lower than the competition in order to stay competitive and relevant in the market.  With the cost of this new AMD FX-8150 8-core CPU starting at only $245, here is how it stacks up with other CPUs in terms of performacne per dollar.

Ah ha!  So while the performance per watt results for the FX-8150 were pretty drab, the performance-per-almighty-dollar looks much better!  The results for Euler3D and the Valve particle simulator are low but looking at the graphs for CineBench, POV-Ray and even Handbrake tells us that there is some potential for the new Bulldozer core!
