A Detailed Look
The TX Modular power supply enclosures are painted matte black with orange and white lettering and are 160mm (6.3”) deep. The TX550M and TX750M both use a single 140mm fan on the bottom for cooling. The dual ball bearing Yate Loon Electronics fan (D14BH-12) is the same high-quality fan that we have seen in previous TX Series PSUs.
The back panel includes an On-Off switch and AC receptacle along with an open honeycomb grill that allows the exhaust air to exit the power supply with minimal resistance and turbulence.
Corsair Enthusiast Modular Series TX550M Cables
The TX550M and TX750M power supplies come with slightly different combinations of fixed and modular cables. All of the cables are covered with braided plastic mesh sleeving and range in length from 23-1/2" to 39-1/2" long. The TX550M power supply comes with two PCI-E connectors (both modular) while the TX750M has four PCI-E connector cables for multiple, high-end graphic card support (two fixed and two modular). Corsair uses the 6+2-pin configuration on all PCI-E connectors for added flexibility. On the TX750M you have the option of installing a second 8-pin EPS cable instead of one of the modular PCI-E cables.

Corsair is THE best power
Corsair is THE best power supply manufacturer by far. I believe this particular model has a MTBF (mean time between failure) of 100,000 hours, which is insane. I am running a GTX 295, overclocked core i7, DVD burner, 10k hard drive, and 6 gigs of 1600 Mhz Ram with ease on this power supply with breathing room. When I get my other GTX 295 and hook up the Quad SLI, add another hard drive, blu-ray burner, and 6 more gigs of ram, I will need a 1200W power supply and I really wish Corsair made one. The only real “con” is that it isn’t modular so you need to have decent cable management to keep the airflow tip top. Buy this, you won’t be disappointed.
