Under the Hood
Here are a few pictures showing the layout and components inside the new NZXT HALE82 850W power supply. This is a very familiar power supply; built by Seasonic and based on their popular M12II platform, which has been successfully branded by a few other big-name companies over the last year or two. While certainly not cutting-edge technology it still remains one of the best 80Plus Bronze platforms on the market today.
The two primary capacitors are made by Nippon Chemi-Con and rated for 330uF, 400V, and 105°C each with more Nippon Chemi-Con electrolytic and solid polymer caps populating the secondary side – very nice.
DC-to-DC VRMs (Voltage Regulator Modules) are used to produce the 3.3V and 5V outputs from 12V. The overall layout, build quality and component selection looks very good; just as we would expect from Seasonic.
This is a great, rock solid
This is a great, rock solid power supply. This PSU is capable of handling almost anything that you can throw at it, except for some extremely exotic setups.

Seasonic is my most trusted
Seasonic is my most trusted brand, and kudos to NZXT for going with flat black cables. Too bad they didn’t go all black with the 24pin and motherboard cables. Good looking PSU too, stands out without being gaudy.
