This comment isn’t directly
This comment isn’t directly related to this podcast but I just wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciate the work you guys do. I always check your site first and read your reviews because you have earned my trust.
I first found you by searching for computer hardware podcasts, after trying many others i found myself annoyed with their inaccurate info, clueless hosts and jumbled or far too serious shows.
I love your podcast because you guys really know your shi*. But are not all business all the time either so its much more relaxed, and often times down right funny. You also tend to understand when to move onto another topic instead of beating a dead horse like other podcasts do.
After coming back every week on google reader rss feed for your podcast i started visiting the site, and found it to be my new favorite.
I just wanted to finally comment in as a representative of the silent majority and thank you for everything you guys have done, and ask that you please please keep it up.
I constantly recommend your podcast and link your articles to friends to try and help with getting you traffic. I also refer people to your hardware leader boards often to help decide what parts to get.
Alan, thank you for demystifying SSDs and their controllers for us, keep up the excellent work! You have explained so many things to me that before were alien, now seem familiar. Thank you.
Jeremy, sometimes you’re a little quiet, sitting back drinking your whiskey (i think thats what it is anyway) but when you do open your mouth intelligent thoughts come out. I like the way you can tend to shorten things up and get your point across without a ton of words.
Josh, your banter throughout the episodes keeps it from getting too serious and i really appreciate that. You have a good sense of when to crack jokes and when to back off so real information can come out. You can also be a wealth of information when you want to be, your attention to detail and giving background, while lengthy is never too much, or irrelevant to the point you are about to make. Some may find your jokes crude or in poor taste, but that’s what makes them awesome.
Ryan, you have an excellent sense of flow and timing and know when to rush things along and when to go into deep detail. You have a very attuned sense of what your audience is thinking at any given moment and often chime in with things I am thinking. I also appreciate your great lengths to make sure you stay neutral, even when working with company pr people who are trying to use your site and shows for positive spin on everything. You never let them get away with it too much, without being offensive to them. You too know how to banter with the rest to lighten the mood, and you are well versed in every topic even if you field the floor to someone else, you are a jack of all trades, while still maintaining a mastery in many.
Not only do you guys have my trust, but you’ve earned it by backing all of your opinions, reviews, news and rumors with facts, logic, and common sense. As I said before, PLEASE keep up the excellent work.
Why thank you, it is always
Why thank you, it is always great to hear from someone that appreciates our particular brand of insanity. I’m glad we can properly balance an unhealthy obsession with tech and humorous innuendo for you.

Wow, thanks for the compliments!
For your info the Asus 7970
For your info the Asus 7970 DCUII does have dual link with the switch on the pcb. This is like the old 6970 and 6950 direct CUII.
Why is your mp3 rss feed so
Why is your mp3 rss feed so freakin’ inconsistant? sometimes my podcatcher gets it and sometimes it doesn’t.And trying to download it manually on a smartphone is damn near impossible.
I think if you stopped worrying about all the iTunes crap in the feed it would be much better. What idiots listen to this podcast and use iTunes?
Really like your podcast and
Really like your podcast and website. You guys just helped me with deciding which ssd to purchase. After hearing al talk about the samsung 830 series and reading the review, I looked it up on newegg. I found that the 128GB model had 30 promo code. I ended up buying it for $140, which I thought was a good day. Thanks for helping me out with my upgrades and keep up the good work.

I just wanted to ask about a
I just wanted to ask about a few things from the podcast.
1. I’ve been trying to get into the podcast for several episodes. A few things have made this hard, including the fact that your audio is somewhat terrible. If you are doing a weekly professional podcast, please invest in some quality microphones. The distortion is extremely distracting.
2. Overall I like your coverage. But I’m noticing that you have several large gaps in your knowledge. For example, you complained about the Hitachi being an 8-platter design. All of Hitachi’s drives are 5-platter. Seagate also uses a 5-platter design, however they can easily transition to a 4-platter design using their 1TB/platter technology released last year.
I’m really trying to like the podcast, but so far the small technical issues along with the misinformation that you present is making me think it will not stay in my weekly feed. Please take these criticisms as a positive way to make your production better.
