A PC Perspective Live Review Recap is a recorded version of a previously live streamed event from https://pcper.com/live. If you couldn't make the original air time, or simply want to re-watch, the on-demand version is provided below!
Over the weekend we had the pleasure of hosting ASUS' own JJ Guerrero, Senior Technical Marketing Specialist, at the PC Perspective offices. He stopped by to talk to us, and to our readers, about the new Intel Z77 chipset built for the Ivy Bridge processor. In the videos below you'll see a replay of JJ's visit where he details all of the launch Z77 motherboards including the P8Z77-V series, Sabertooth Z77, Maximus V Gene and Formula and even a mini-ITX version.
The second video includes some demonstrations of ASUS-exclusive features incluing USB 3 Boost, Fan Xpert 2, iNetwork Control, Wi-Fi GO! and more!
I would like to thank JJ and ASUS for stopping by to share so much information with our fans and we are looking forward to the Ivy Bridge launch coming up very soon! We'll have a few more videos when that NDA is up detailing topics we couldn't discuss live, so stay tuned!
Hi PCPer,
Great video PCPer
Hi PCPer,
Great video PCPer and JJ RE: Asus Z77 mobos. Just a few question PCPer and JJ.
Does WiFi-Go+BT-Go Module bundled with P8Z77-V Deluxe could be used on P8Z77-V / PRO instead of using the bundled WiFi-Go Module? Could this be interchangeable across all the compatible Asus Z77 motherboards? Sort of compatibility with each other?
The same thing on mPCIe combo card bundled on Maximus V Gene, could I use the WiFi-Go module on it instead the mPCIe combo card?
Would there be a seperate retail WiFi-Go+BT-Go or mPCIe combo card that can be bought in the near future so I could equipped that on P8Z77-V / PRO or Maximus V Gene.
Thanks in advance and more power PCPer/JJ!
Great stuff, very
Great stuff, very entertaining and informative. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to the next of such event.
I’m a little unclear as to who the winners are. Who will be receiving an ASUS Z77 motherboard prize?

Awesome video, love hearing
Awesome video, love hearing all about the z77 mobos from ASUS.

A follow-up question,….
The use of the Thunderbolt header on the Asus Z77 motherboards was explained in the video. However, I’m not clear on whether or not the accessory x4 Thunderbolt card will work on other non Asus Z77 boards that don’t have the benefit of the “TB_Header”.
So for example, lets say someone had a relatively new ASUS P9X79 xxx LGA2011 motherboard and wanted to add Intel thunderbolt support. Would they be able to buy the upcoming ~$40 Asus x4 Thunderbolt card and have it function in the same way as a using an officially supported Asus Z77 motherboard?
I see the ASUS guy is as
I see the ASUS guy is as chunky as ever LOL
Why would you say that…It’s
Why would you say that…It’s just rude.
Great info if your interested
Great info if your interested in choosing between ASUS boards.
Personally (as they took 9 months and 18 e-mails to replace a P5NE-SLI board still in warranty, I would never use them again) I would like to see this kind of info for the other great makes of Motherboards
Gigabyte
MSI
ASRock
ETc
Any chance of that or are you too much ASUS only?
Was a really well done Video, despite my dislike for this manufacturer.
Actually I think PCPer.com
Actually I think PCPer.com has been accused of being partial to MSI since they seem so heavily sponsored by them in their podcasts with respect to other manufactures. I don’t subscribe to this notion but tongues will wag.
I don’t see a lot of answers flying around here so I’ll just hazard a guess that Asus has the resources / representatives like JJ and isn’t shy about using them to promote launches like their Z77 line of boards. My guess is that Gigabyte, MSI, ASRock and others wouldn’t be turned away if they wanted to do the same here and elsewhere.
Take note that Anandtech.com was supposed to be doing the same type of Asus Q&A video interview but hasn’t released it yet:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/5746/asus-ivy-bridge7series-chipset-qa
So again my guess is that Asus is simply being more aggressive about this then the other companies.
I’d still like to see a list of winners of the Asus Z77 motherboards being given away due to this promotion though. That information just isn’t being translated to readers / viewers in any meaningful way that I can see so far.

Am I the only one that
Am I the only one that thought the video is way too long? Over an hour? Really?
Lucid Virtue on my Z68 ROG
Lucid Virtue on my Z68 ROG board slows down games horribly, poor FPS performance.
After seeing all these
After seeing all these boards, I see no reason to upgrade from Z68 to Z77. I have USB 3, SSD Caching, Sata 6G, and SLI support. My BIOS is already flashed to accept Ivy bridge. What’s the big deal? I can just pop in a new CPU.
