Introduction and Features
The HCP-1000 is 80 Plus Platinum certified and features new circuit topology for outstanding performance and all modular cables.
Antec has one of the largest selections of PC power supplies on the market today and their new HCP-1000 Platinum power supply features 1000W of continuous output power and is 80 Plus Platinum certified. The High Current Pro Platinum is the first power supply in a new series that will replace three existing lines, the TruePower Quattro, High Current Pro (80 Plus Gold), and Antec’s Signature series. The High Current Pro Platinum series will be the new top class of maximum efficiency within Antec’s range of power supplies with modular cabling.
The HCP-1000 Platinum is based on a brand new platform, co-developed with Antec’s partner Delta Electronics and combines several new technological developments and features to provide unmatched performance and be the very best power supply possible. The HCP-1000 Platinum incorporates all modular cables with six PCI-E connectors, NVIDIA SLI-Ready certification, ErP Lot 6:2013 compliance, a 7-year warranty and it is being introduced with a MSRP of $269.90 USD.
Here is what Antec has to say about their new HCP-1000 PSU:
“Antec’s High Current Pro Platinum series is the pinnacle of power supplies. High Current Pro Platinum is fully modular with a revolutionary 20+8-pin MBU socket for the needs of tomorrow. By using a PSU that is 80 PLUS® PLATINUM & ErP Lot 6: 2013 certified, operating up to 94% efficient, you can reduce your electricity bill by up to 25% when compared to many other power supplies. HCP Platinum’s innovative 16-pin sockets create a new level of flexibility by doubling the modular connectivity, supporting two different 8-pins connectors and even future connectors of 10, 12, 14 or 16-pins. Backed by a 7 year warranty and lifetime global 24/7 support, the HCP-1000 Platinum embodies everything a power supply can accomplish today.”

PSU Testing Methodology
Establishing an accurate load is critical to testing and evaluating a PC power supply. PCPerspective’s power supply test bench can place a precise 2,000 watt DC load on the PSU under test. Each power supply is tested under controlled, real-world conditions up to its maximum rated load, using both 115 VAC and 240 VAC line voltage. Our current suite of tests includes:
• DC Load Regulation
• DC Line Regulation
• DC Cross-load (unbalanced load)
• AC Ripple and Noise
• Power Factor
• Efficiency
• Differential Temperature
• Noise
The Antec High Current Pro Platinum 1000W power supply was evaluated on both features and performance. A full range of equipment was used to test the power supply under controlled load conditions.
• (2) CSI3710A Programmable DC load (+3.3V and +5V outputs)
• (4) CSI3711A Programmable DC load (+12V1, +12V2, +12V3, and +12V4)
• (2) 200W Precision resistor load bank (+12V5 and +12V6)
• Switchable precision resistor load bank (-12V and +5VSB)
• Extech MultiMaster MM570 digital multimeter (Accuracy ±0.02%)
• Extech 380803 Power Analyzer (Accuracy ±0.5% of full scale)
• DS1M12 "StingRay" digital oscilloscope (20M S/s with 12 Bit ADC)
• Powerstat Variable Autotransformer, 1.4 KVA, 0-140 VAC
• Extech Model 407738 digital sound level meter (Accuracy ±1.5 dB)

HCP-1200 trumps the HCP-1000
HCP-1200 trumps the HCP-1000 in build quality, performance and in peak power capacity.
It’s the second best PSU out in the market coming after the AX1200i.
The build quality of the Hcp
The build quality of the Hcp 1000 is second to zip sonny, Ax1200i your kidding right, tosser.
Is there a HCP-1200 Platinum?
Is there a HCP-1200 Platinum?
No, however Delta has built
No, however Delta has built the HCP-1200 in a Platinum offering for servers, which (unfortunately) failed to clear Platinum and stayed at Gold efficiency. It’s not out yet for servers, let alone in a pretty, tidied up shape for builders.
