In the comments to our full review of the GeForce GTX 670 2GB graphics card a user asked for a comparison of the new GTX 670 against the Fermi-based GTX 570. I had some numbers for that already made up but ran out of time and space for it in our review that went up this morning. I thought that there might be others interested in this so I decided to put a news post with the results.
These performance graphs pit a reference clocked GTX 570 1.25GB card against the new reference GTX 670 2GB card.
Without a doubt the new GTX 670 is a faster GPU than the GTX 570:
- 3DMark11: +45%
- Battlefield 3: +34%
- DiRT 3: +28%
- Skyrim: +32%
- Metro 2033: +31%
- Dues Ex: +29%
- Batman: AC: +39%
- Power Consumption: -14%
With an average performance delta of 30% or more, the GTX 670 makes a solid upgrade for GTX 570 users but maybe more interesting, it does this while using 14% less power as well.
Nice upgrade now, when and
Nice upgrade now, when and how much
Love to see this done for SLI
Love to see this done for SLI as this makes me tempted to buy one but I got 2 of the 570s.

This is the reason pcper is
This is the reason pcper is THE go to computer hardware site. If someone asks for something and it is in the realm of possible, you guys just do it. I expected the 670 to be good, but for a card of this price it literally blows my mind. AMD are going to have to give their cards away to stay relevant in the enthusiest market. Love your work pc per.
Thanks, our readers are
Thanks, our readers are awesome as well 🙂
Yeah wow I saw that comment
Yeah wow I saw that comment earlier and was wondering if that question was ever going to be answered too.I’m impressed pcper listens to comments and goes back to deliver if anything was missing the first time. Very good practice.
Thanks for the comments you
Thanks for the comments you guys. We wouldn’t exist and be able to do this if it weren’t for our readers so we make every attempt to give them the information they want.
Thanks Ryan!
Thanks Ryan!
For me the one thing missing
For me the one thing missing is some CUDA/OpenCL tests. And as you mentioned in the 670 review towards the end that mulitscreen test are coming. Can’t wait.
You stated that without us you wouldn’t exist. But I have to also add. That without the quality of reviews, and simply an awesome team you have created with PCPer and the Video Podcasts (which are still to short :P) we wouldn’t be here.
So keep it up. 🙂
Wow, impressive. Thanks Ryan!
Wow, impressive. Thanks Ryan!
I dont agree that an upgrade
I dont agree that an upgrade from a 570 would be worth it. But for someone coming from a 470, for instance, it would make a noticeable performance gain.
I also like you work guys, congrats!
the 570 used is not a stock
the 570 used is not a stock in this comparison(stock speed is 732 core not 800, 9 percent increase). a true apples to apples would show the 670 near or better than 40 percent faster on many games.
Thanks for the great article.
Thanks for the great article. My old GTX 285 INNO3D died on me, so now I ordered the GTX 670 from MSI. Cant wait to get it and see the performance difference between a 285 to a 670 + finally being able to use DX11.
Wow. Pcper is now
Wow. Pcper is now bookmarked.
thanks that was just the made

Alredy owned 670 gtx (palit
Alredy owned 670 gtx (palit jet stream) its average faster that gtx 570 (palit sonic platinium) about 30% -35 % .
I was thinking about ordering
I was thinking about ordering two GTX 580’s or 680’s for SLI but now I am thinking the SLI 670’s might be a better option any opinions or benchmarks I should look at? Im interested in playing basically all the games this page tested and the new Metro 2033.
