We all know the reviews are coming soon – the GeForce GTX 690 is set to be launched this Thursday. The dual-GK104 Kepler solution with the $999 price tag will likely be the highest performing graphics card on the market (and by a lot) and we are going to be discussing the launch, the technology and a lot more in our PC Perspective Live Review.
Starting Thursday, May 3rd at 1pm EDT / 10am PDT, NVIDIA’s Tom Petersen will join me at our live page (https://pcper.com/live) to talk about the new graphics card, the performance and feature characteristics that go into building a high-end solution like this and take questions from the viewers.
You might have seen our original GTX 680 Live Review where Tom and I hosted a similar event – this is definitely something you won’t want to miss out on!
Be sure to set your calendars and join us Thursday afternoon for the event! You can use the chat room at https://pcper.com/live to interact and ask questions or follow me on Twitter and reply to me during the show.
Best of luck with the live
Best of luck with the live review! We can’t wait to watch it.
Looking forward to this! Nice

Ryan/rest of PC Per Crew. Could you comment on any performance differences between running one 690 vs 2 680s? I am not completely up on SLI and aside from the increased power and space a pair of 680s would take are there additional advantages to having everything on a single board? With all those tiny parts running so hot, I wonder if it is worth the benefits with a single point of failure vs. 2 cards in SLI, but again I am not sure they are that directly comparable.
Love to hear if you can fit that in.
Seeing as this card is only
Seeing as this card is only slightly under locked compared to a regular 680, it would be more then fair to compare them. I feel that this card is most geared toward people who don’t want to mess with sli and people who just want to say they have one. there is always a little bit of exclusivity with dual gpu cards.
Ryan,
In the Live review can
Ryan,
In the Live review can you ask about the improvements the GTX 690 may have with hardware frame metering?
If possible Ryan, could you
If possible Ryan, could you please ask Tom why they opted for different materials and aesthetics for this card compared to previous dual gpus (GTX 290, GTX 295 single PCB etc)?
Also, slightly off topic, but what improvements did Nvidia in general make to get the Samaritan demo to run on one Keplar gpu as opposed to 3 gtx 580s previously?
Overall Nvidia is working miracles, so kudos for your efforts, but we need more cards available! My gtx 580 serves me well for everything, but the arbitrary nerd in me needs the latest and greatet!
earlier post was obviously
earlier post was obviously GTX 590, not GTX 290!
Very cool card – like the LED
Very cool card – like the LED controlable! But more importantly dual GPU single card solution — High 5 — and 3 outputs works fine for me
