Results: AvP
One of the first titles to really leverage DX11 and tessellation, AvP still looks really nice and has turned out to be a solid little benchmark for us. Ultra settings with 16X AF and 4X AA enabled. Tessellation is essentially limited to the alien model, but in this particular benchmark there sure are a lot of aliens.
We again are seeing much the same as the previous two 3D Marks have shown. The XFX HD 7870 is right behind the N580 GTX XE. It is pretty easy to conceive that this particular R7870 speed will be faster than a stock clocked GTX 580. Remember as well that the MSI R7970 Lightning is at 1070 MHz rather than the standard 925 MHz. At this speed it is actually faster than a stock GTX 680.

What I’d like to see are comparisons to the generic versions of these cards. You price the XFX 7850 at 275$ but is it worth the extra 45$ compared to say XFX’s generic 7850 that they sell for 240$ (free shipping)?
You defiantly hit the nail on the head with the 7870 though. As awesome looking and well performing as it is it’s priced too high.

AMD has dropped the price on these cards. The 7870 DD is now only $279 after rebate. That certainly changes the game, doesn’t it?
