PCMark Vantage

Futuremark’s benchmark suite, PCMark Vantage, was released in 2010 we published an initial article on the new software that looked at some CPU performance as well as providing overviews for all the individual testing suites it uses and what kind of applications they emulate.  The new Vantage software takes a much more real-world user-scenario approach to testing that previous PCMark software and as such deserves more time our benchmark analysis.

PCMark Vantage usually give us a clearer picture of which hardware stands above the rest. The Sabertooth X79 recorded mixed results and scored about 1,000 points lower than the X79-UD5 for the overall PCMark Vantage crown. However, the board did post promising numbers in the gaming, storage, and productivity tests. These results, combined with our previous CPU, memory, and gaming benchmarks scores, indicate the Sabertooth X79 is a stable platform to create an enthusiast-level system capable of serious multi-tasking and gaming.
