A Detailed Look
The Enermax Platimax 1000W power supply enclosure features a textured black finish and measures 175mm (6.8”) deep. The black finish sets the stage for white logo lettering and the overall look is simple but attractive.
The backside panel features an open grill and includes a power receptacle and master On-Off switch. The honey comb grill allows air to exhaust out of the power supply for cooling the internal components. The CordGuard feature is a metal wire clip that secures the power cord in the receptacle and is supposed to prevent accidental shutdowns.

The Platimax PSU features a specially made Enermax fan that incorporates Twister bearings for quiet operation and long life (100,000 MTBF).

The 139mm fan (EA142512M-OA) is rated for 0.45A at 12V and features seven smoked-gray transparent blades. The fan speed is automatically controlled via an onboard fuzzy-logic controller (speeds up as the combined load and temperature increases).
The Platimax 1000W power supply comes with a good assortment of fixed and modular cables/connectors. The five black connectors on the right (5-pin) supply all the peripheral device cables while the three red connectors on the left (12-pin) supply the PCI-E connectors. All of the cables are covered with braided plastic mesh sleeving and measure approximately 19"~24” long (to the first connector).
