It is that time of year again: another installment of the PC Perspective Hardware Workshop! Once again we will be presenting on the main stage at Quakecon 2012 being held in Dallas, TX August 2-5th.
Main Stage – Quakecon 2012
Saturday, August 4th, 2pm CT
Our thanks go out to the organizers of Quakecon for allowing us and our partners to put together a show that we are proud of every year. We love giving back to the community of enthusiasts and gamers that drive us to do what we do! Get ready for 2 hours of prizes, games and raffles and the chances are pretty good that you'll take something out with you – really, they are pretty good!
Our thanks for this year's workshop logo goes to John Pastor!!
Our primary partners at the event are those that threw in for our ability to host the workshop at Quakecon and for the hundreds of shirts we have ready to toss out! Our thanks to NVIDIA, MSI Computer and Corsair!!
Live Streaming
If you can't make it to the workshop – don't worry! You can still watch the workshop live on our page right here as we stream it over one of several online services. Just remember this URL: https://pcper.com/workshop and you will find your way!
Case Mod Competition
Along with the Hardware Workshop, PC Perspective is working with Modders Inc on the annual case mod contest! There are two categories for the competition: "Scratch Built" and "In the Box" that will allow those that build their computer enclosures from the ground up to compete separately from those that heavily modify their existing cases and systems.
For more details, be sure to check out the on going thread at the Modders Inc Forums!

The OS will already be on the SSD. 🙂
Yeah this was really cool
Yeah this was really cool last year even though the 2 were like a 8 year old kid and a 40+ gamer (but doesnt build computers) so that was interesting.
I am really glad this is making a come back, I hope my number gets pulled for this one!, someone time me! 😉

A shame I’m in Aus, not only do we miss out on the workshop but we don’t get a podcast. 🙁

Watching the live stream, there is so many prizes!
Tim w/Nvidia was a horrible
Tim w/Nvidia was a horrible speaker. Doing rock/paper/scissors with a giant collective group to determine free prizes was quite unprofessional and chaotic. People could barely hear the raffle numbers being called while all the chaos ensued due to stuff being thrown into the front rows. While free stuff is great, I feel like the event was a waste of time due to how unprofessional and unorganized the whole even went off.
or rather I think his name
or rather I think his name was Tom. Was hard to hear with all the people fighting over tshirts… the same people with a fistful of tshirts fighting over yet more tshirts.
Yeah, I know!!! Its the same
Yeah, I know!!! Its the same PR guy from NVIDIA every time, NVIDIA also uses him for the youtube video’s.
The “rock/paper/scissors” thing (which hes done at least twice) is always a flaming ball of (explict). I hope he doenst do a repeat.
Yes +1! PCPer/NVIDIA/Sponsors, dont just hand stuff out to the people in the front rows! The room is full!!! Last year there was enough goodies for almost everyone to have walked away with something! Instead of 20+ people walking away with like 5 pc parts each ( I kid you not ).
Please make it more fair and balanced with the lootz 😀 ! After all the more people that have fun the more people the sponsors reach!
Maay I just say what a
Maay I just say what a comfort to findd somebody who actually knows what they’re talking about over the internet.
You definitely know how to bring an issue to
light and make it important. A lot more people ought to
read this and understand this side of your story. I can’t believe you are not more popular since youu certainly have the gift.
Wow you guys rock, as usual
Wow you guys rock, as usual we walked away with a bunch of good stuff, My daughter won one of your raffles for a case, power supply, ram, video card, motherboard, (can’t remember what else she said was in there) She called me on the phone because I could not make it this year and she was screaming.
Thanks a lot
Thanks for a great QuakeCon.
Thanks for a great QuakeCon. Amazing amount of prizes! I know time was limited, but I think people would prefer for everyone to have a chance to win something instead of giving away stacks of 3-5 products to one person. The number ticket system is a great idea and seems fairer than just throwing things to only the first few rows. Thanks again. I was blown away by the amount of swag you brought for us!
i had a blast at this
i had a blast at this presentation! the prizes you gave out were fantastic, and i won the saphire pure platinum mb. i can’t wait to build a new computer now 😀 thanks so much for putting on such a great show!!

Excited to see you guys there again!
Just some food for raffleing thought…dont only hand stuff out to the people in the first few rows, look back, the room is full! Also, the “who has the oldest quakecon shirt” or “who is from the furthest away” is WAY overdone, its the same ppl every year, lol.
Side Note;
@Ryan: can we expect another interview with Carmack this year? 😀
Also I live in the DFW area so !rock on!
