A Detailed Look

The EVGA SuperNOVA NEX1500 power supply enclosure is painted with a flat black hammertone finish and measures a full 200mm (7.9”) long.  The back panel includes a heavy duty On-Off switch and AC receptacle along with an open honeycomb grill and a heavy duty handle bar. Behind that little red sticker is a row of DIP switches that can be used to configure the NEX1500. We used the various switches during testing to enable OC mode and single rail +12V (Switches 2,3, and 5 ON).

The NEX1500 uses a single high-quality Sanyo Denki 120mm fan on the bottom for cooling.  The fan speed is automatically controlled by the internal component temperature (optionally configured through the SuperNOVA software) or can be forced to run at full speed all the time via a DIP switch on the back panel.  The dual ball bearing SanAce120 fan (9G1212P4G03) is a relatively powerful high-speed fan that can deliver excellent airflow and cooling.
