I loved it too 🙂 I thought I was the only one still with some antiques devices that I still plan on working on 😛
About the RevoDrive dropping
About the RevoDrive dropping frames, have you tried changing the write-caching policies of the drive in the Device Manager?
I’ll give that a shot and

Hey Ryan – which
Hey Ryan – which chipset/system were you using for capturing and writing the buffer to?
I was curious if you were running into DMI speed issues on z77 chipset? I’d be curious of the specs you were using for your system, but if you were using the bridge chipset for both capture and SATA writing, you might be near pegging out DMI 2.0 (20 gbps = 1.25 GB/sec.. or not much more than 2x your stream speeds).
The thunderbolt might ‘fix’ that because thunderbolt uses 4 cpu lanes directly (At least according to most diagrams I’ve seen for TB motherboards).
I’m not sure which slot your capture card is plugged into.. (CPU or chipset PCI- express), if it was plugged into the southbridge, you’d have 400mb+/sec across the DMI bus writing to ram, and then again back to the SATA ports..
Hey John, we were using an
Hey John, we were using an ASUS Z77 Sabertooth motherboard and plugging the Revo into one of the two primary PCIe slots. Not sure what "SATA writing" would have been approaching half of the 1.25 GB/s you mentioned though… And, even with a max write capability of 500 MB/s that is much less than half the total available bandwidth.
Guys i have BOOT magazines
Guys i have BOOT magazines from 1997 oldest one is June lol and all the boot discs all the way up to when they switched to Max pc till now have had script since 1997 June issue want to sentd ya guys a pick of them all have em neatly in milk crates lol
I made a boot disk in 1999
I made a boot disk in 1999 from the microsoft original boot disk that windows 98 would create. I modified the hex to allow the boot process to read and use different and better drivers. It would boot any machine from 3.5 to CD.
It included fixes for some known issues and even the firefox / microsoft bug that they fought over in court.
Microsoft lawyers told me to stop or they would sue me. I said you have to sue me for damages and since my product fixes issues for your customers that you can’t fix and I hardly make any money on Ebay selling this crap it would be hard to make a case. I never heard from them again. Today with the DMCA I would be screwed.
