Missed the live event? Here is the full replay feature me and Tom Petersen!
Hopefully by now you have read our review of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN 6GB graphics card that was just released. This is definitely a product release that highlights a generations of GPUs and I would really encourage you to read the article and offer your feedback.
However, we have another event to promote right now: NVIDIA's Tom Petersen will be joining me on PCPer Live! at 11am PT / 2pm ET to talk about the GeForce GTX TITAN and its performance, features, pricing and more!

Can we expect any pricing changes or is TITAN going to be competing with the 690 on price?

What retail channels should we look to in the US? Will Amazon have the Titan at the retail launch?
Any chances of a Titan
Any chances of a Titan variant in the future with further reduced SMs/cores due to yields/binning?
If it would be possible to come out with a $699-799 Titan variant which still averaged 20-30% faster speeds than a 680 and got you the same new feature set, I’d be much more willing to consider it.
What other abilities does a
What other abilities does a driver have control over that we don’t know about, as with the Titan launch we just learned that the video card driver has the ability to overclock the monitor refresh rate?

Hi Ryan and Tom.
Can I ask when the GTX 700 series comes along where will the Titan stand, can Tom tell us will it be a better performer than the GTX 780 so as to help me understand the longevity of the investment?

Hello Tom and Ryan!
4k monitor question. I need the power of the GTX Titan.
I do have an IBM T221dg5 3840×2400 22,2″ monitor. It requires two DVI dual link cables. Can the GTX Titan or other Geforce use horizontal span to treat my monitor as one monitor and not two?
Thank you
Oskar
Hello Ryan and Tom,
1) Why
Hello Ryan and Tom,
1) Why did NVIDIA choose to release the GTX TITAN as the TITAN rather than the GTX 780?
2) Is NVIDIA planning to delay the GTX 700 series to that of… thier primary competition 🙂
3) Will NVIDIA release the ability to mod GTX 600 series cards as far as voltage targets/etc or is that “hard locked”?
4) I upgrade with the top single GPU of each series, where does the TITAN fit into NVIDIA’s current and future lineup?
1) One full Kepler GK110 die
1) One full Kepler GK110 die doesn’t make a series. Especially when the scaled down versions are already being sold as the 600 series.
It’s not like we even really need faster cards right now. I can play BF3 on Ultra, no AA @ 19×10, Vsync ON, and Crysis 3 on HIGH, which means anyone with a 7950/670 or higher are close to maxing them both out. This year is a great time to try/go with a multi-GPU setup. Any decent motherboard supports it, and you save money buying a current card, than a new one at full (release) price.

*The card I have is an overclocked 7870 GHz Edition, and I will be buying another one in a month.
What motherboard would you
What motherboard would you guys recommend? If your willing to pay for the GTX Titan, then the Motherboard shouldn’t be a bother in price!
I would recommend an Asus
I would recommend an Asus Rampage IV extreme X79. It’s 4-way sli ready and 4-way crossfire ready right out of the box. It’s a bit more expensive, but an excellent motherboard for future upgrades. Plus it has an integrated GPU that helps boost the performance of your normal GPU. I bought it myself and I would recommend it if you’re willing to spend the extra dough for a motherboard like this. Plus it looks pretty sweet with the color scheme it has.

Is there any possibility for
Is there any possibility for a lower cost variant with less RAM, say 3GB and maybe even another SMX disabled.
Potentially eschewing that awesome cooler and seeing if partners like MSI, ASUS, and EVGA pick up the challenge to meet the acoustic and thermals the 6GB offering would have.
Is GPU boost 2.0 a hardware
Is GPU boost 2.0 a hardware or software implementation only for Titan? Or will it also filter down to the rest of the Kepler family (GTX 680 etc). Thanks!

Well. Clearly there is not
Well. Clearly there is not enough competition in the graphics card business.
AMD is spending all its resources on console chips, so no time or resources for 8000 cards this year.
Nvidia clearly using its 700 series chips to price squeeze extra cash out of fan boys by launching it as a special edition and charging double what it should retail for. With AMD eyes clearly off the ball, why wouldn’t they.
Sad. Wouldn’t spend that much money on a card(Titan) myself, though I guess there are a few people who this won’t gasp as much as I did
GK110 is 6 series. It was a
GK110 is 6 series. It was a Quaddro only card until now. Nothing has changed to warrant a new series. btw, it’s one card, not a whole lineup. And why you bitching, even if they did scale it down any further, it’s better than what AMD is doing with Radeon’s this year.
*sigh*
