Cinebench 11.5, Power, and Overclocking

Cinebench 11.5

This benchmark leverages both CPU and memory performance.  This again would expose any weakness of implementation that this board would contain.

Identical results.  Nevermind that extra 0.1 points for the FZ.

Power and Overclocking

The new power design should give improvements at idle and load for the Formula-Z as compared to the original CHV.

At idle there is no difference at the wall.  When things go up to load though, we see the Formula-Z being 10 watts lower than the original.  I think that is a pretty interesting result.  Same power supply, CPU, GPU, drives, and memory.

In terms of overclocking the Formula-Z is a bit better than the original.  I was able to get the FX-8350 up to 4.9 GHz with good stability.  The original could push that CPU to 4.9 GHz, but it was not the least bit stable.  The memory should also overclock much higher with this design, but I do not have any DIMMS that can reach those speeds.  FSB overclocking is very easy on this board and it can achieve 300 MHz plus with no real effort.  This should allow users a lot of leeway in between multipliers and bus speeds to achieve the highest possible overclock.
