You can't argue that components are good, a i7-3840QM @ 2.8GHz, 16GB DDR3-1600, a 1TB HDD for storage and 256GB SSD for the OS and a pair of GeForce GTX 675Ms will give you great gaming performance on the 1080p integral screen or a larger external one. If you do want a gaming laptop then getting one with $532 off the retail price is the best way to do it. Just remember to pick up extra batteries.

As a big user of a gaming laptop (Asus G73JH Republic of Gamer) I can say nobody assumes they will game off the battery. You buy it because it is a lot more portable than a desktop as you carry it back and forth from your vehicle to the motel room.

I often run my still somewhat young MSI G660…? as a desktop or console with the big screen but I also like being able to take the laptop to the bed for movies and such.

Still, 100 watt solar roll = portable gaming in the mountains if I choose to do so.
Will build a rig from a TH10 magnum one day when I take my freedom back from the gubber.
