Whether you are looking for a professional level display with 99% Adobe colour gamut or a large 1440p display (sorry not quite 4k) to game on, at $850 the Dell UltraSharp U2713H 27" IPS display is a great deal. The USB 3.0 connectors are a nice touch but they do add to the size of the bezel for those with enough lucre to consider running more than one of these displays.

Owning the older version of this display I feel Dell doesnt get enough credit for their displays. This is a top of the line IPS display. Decent price for a 2013 model.

While the DELL U2713H is a somewhat decent 8 bit monitor, it’s not a top of the line monitor by any standards. Even after calibration, the monitor has a pretty high average Delta E value, even compared to the new cheap MVA monitors. Luminance uniformity on the display is horrible, according to TFTCENTRAL, and the contrast ratio is moderate, compared to what you can get with a cheap MVA monitor.
The monitor has a massive input lag of around 2 frames and isn’t backlight strobed to eliminate blurr, so it’s really not meant for gaming or even watching movies.
Overall, I wouldn’t spend $850 on this monitor.

nice monitor but i would probably get the hm version instead. dell makes good monitors as i am still using a 2407wfp that i bought back in 2004

lol. You can buy a 27 inch 1440p IPS monitor from Korea in ebay for 317 dolars shipped (Qnix QX2710)

Which only comes with a glossy screen, usually has a giant power brick, often has shaky/shoddy feeling build quality, frequently have dead or stuck pixels, and sometimes comes with a ton of dust trapped under the glass.
It’s a fantastic option, when it works. It’s miserable when the dice don’t roll in your favor and now you have to eat the cost of the monitor or eat the cost of return shipping (not to mention the time) to ship it back to Korea and wait for it to be returned . . . assuming you’re dealing with a dealer that is reliable and responsive to your replacement request.
This monitor is a joke. Not even 16:10 for that ridiculous price and mediocre response rates and display quality. And only 27″… but going for a cheap Korean import isn’t the right solution, either (granted, there aren’t really any “solutions” in the monitor market, currently, but that doesn’t make the only remaining options good ones!).
