A Detailed Look
The Enermax TriAthlor 550W power supply enclosure features a gloss black finish and measures only 140mm (5.5”) deep. The black finish sets the stage for gold logo lettering and the overall look is simple but attractive.
The backside panel features an open grill on one side and a power receptacle and master On-Off switch on the other. The honey comb grill allows air to exhaust out of the power supply for cooling the internal components.
The TriAthlor power supply features an Enermax labeled T.B.Silence fan that incorporates Twister bearings for quiet operation and long life.
The 120mm fan (ED122512H-DD) is rated for 0.3A at 12V and features nine Batwing profile blades for enhanced airflow. The fan speed is automatically controlled via an onboard controller (speeds up as the combined load and temperature increases).
The TriAthlor 550W power supply comes with a standard assortment of fixed and modular cables/connectors. The five black connectors on the left (5-pin) supply all the peripheral device cables while the two red connectors on the right (12-pin) supply the PCI-E connectors. The fixed cables are covered with braided plastic mesh sleeving while all the peripheral cables are flat ribbon style. The cables measure approximately 21"~24” long (to the first connector).
