Overclocking and Conclusion
Memory Overclock Speed Testing
The memory overclock speed testing was conducted with all board settings at stock speeds with the exception of the memory speeds. System stability was validated over an 8 hour period with LinX running for 500 loops with Memory set to All and FurMark running at 1280×1024 resolution and 2x MSAA in stress test mode.
Board voltage and memory timing settings were configured as follows:
- DRAM Voltage – 1.55V
- CAS Latency – 10
- tRCD – 10
- tRP – 10
- tRAS – 30
- Command Rate (tCMD) – 1T
The Corsair Vengeance Pro modules reached an impressive 2133MHz speed with a memory 1.55V and 10-10-10-1T timings. However, the modules would not run at any higher speeds no matter how much I increased the memory voltage or loosened the timing settings.
Performance
Corsair has another winner on their hands with the Vengeance Pro modules. Because of the tighter timing settings of the modules at stock Intel voltages, the modules run just a bit faster than the competition without heat concerns.
Pricing
As of June 03, the Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3-1866 16GB memory kit was not yet available for purchase at any online retailers, including Newegg, Amazon, or TigerDirect. Pricing details are coming soon.
[UPDATE]
As of June 04, the Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3-1866 16GM memory kit was available from Newegg.com for 144.99 with free shipping.

Conclusion
Before continuing with our final thoughts on this board, we would like to take this opportunity to give our friends at Corsair a hearty “Thank You” for giving us the opportunity and pleasure of reviewing the Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3-1866 16GB memory kit. The Corsair Vengeance modules have made waves in the enthusiast community since their introduction, so I was very interested to see what enhancements Corsair implemented for their new Vengeance Pro line. The most obvious difference is in the appearance. Corsair streamlined the look of the heat sinks with rounded edges while maintaining the surface area and air pass-through from the original design. The changeable metal clip is just an added bonus, allowing you to customize the look of the modules to better coordinate with your case color scheme. The module's performance was as sleek as their looks with the modules coming in with top scores across all of the benchmarks because of their tight timings. The 1.50V rating at 1866MHz speed also presents good overclocking opportunities, giving the ability to safely up the voltage without having to worry about harming your CPU's IMC.
Strengths
- Stock performance
- Look of heat design
- Changeable colored clips
- Overclocking potential because of low voltage requirements at rate speed
- Tight memory timings at 1866MHz speeds
Weaknesses
- None

These modules were used in the Intel Z87 reviews with a Noctua DH-14 cooler used for fit testing. While they are tall, the modules and that cooler fit ok. See the MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming, ASUS Maximus VI Extreme, or ASUS Gryphon Z87 reviews for details…

That’s because the Noctua NH-D14 uses a 120mm fan for the first push position. If you’re using a big CPU heatsink with a 140mm fan that extends down past the heatsink (Phanteks/Thermalright, etc.) you’re going to have more issues.
That would be a weakness in
That would be a weakness in my opinion.
Intel® Extreme Memory Profile
Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP) allows you to overclock compatible DDR3 memory to perform beyond standard specifications. Not Intel XMP (Extreme Memory Platform)
