If you are looking for an AMD system you can really brag about then the arrival of FX-9590 powered systems at popular retailers like NCIX and system builders like Puget Sound and CyberPower. Clocked at 5GHz stock it is the highest frequency consumer CPU on the market and as long as you can tame the 220W TDP you might be able to take the chip even higher. Not every retailer has listed their new systems at the time of posting but right now you can pick up a GENESIS system from Origin that sports a watercooled FX-9590 and depending on your choices the GPU(s) can be watercooled as well.
Velocity Micro also has a system ready for purchase and the Gamer Scorpius 9500 from Cyberpower will be ready in the very near future. As you are unlikely to see these CPUs for sale in retail boxes this may be your only chance to get a hold of one of these chips. The prices of the systems will vary widely depending on what components you want inside but keep in mind that you are buying a completely build and thoroughly tested machine with a warranty so don't dismiss these systems without comparing the pricing to what you would pay to build a machine yourself.
But the chips perform exactly
But the chips perform exactly like an overclocked 8350 @ 5ghz. Not sure why people would want one of these when the chip is $800 when they can get a 3930k for less than $600
Can you get a 8350 to 5ghz
Can you get a 8350 to 5ghz easily with an out of the box solution? Not everyone has the skill to do that.
Its not hard, just takes some
Its not hard, just takes some OC knowledge which anyone can gain just by studying some guides. Add some decent cooling and your good to go.
AMD trying to out price Intel
AMD trying to out price Intel in the Intel overpriced CPU game! AMD has forgot that it’s about Price, Price, and Did I say Price, that matters! 86 about $350.00 dollars from that price, and then we can talk, and fry some eggs!
you mom has seen plenty of

No, these don’t make much
No, these don’t make much sense for the PC enthusiast crowd, but I bet AMD will sell more than a few to Joe Consumer. Before you bash, consider Apple selling one of these. They have a long history of hyping and selling technically dubious hardware, with great success! In a way, I’m almost disappointed that Apple and AMD couldn’t work out a deal. (Of course, it’s highly likely that Apple’s contract with Intel forbids this.)
Intel can not forbid Apple
Intel can not forbid Apple from doing anything, Apple has the upper hand, and the deep pockets of the Walmart variety!
Apple will move from PowerPC to AMD to Intel and then Back again, depending on Apple’s Needs! Out there, on the digital grapevine of the Interwebs, Rumor has it, that Apple is Buying a chip fab, or buying into a chip Fab, with the the spare change that was in Steve Jobs’ crash Couch at Apple headquarters! Going to see some ARM based Apple iNetBook style, ARM based APUs with Apple/Nvidia/AMD GPUs, type of ilaptop devices, Maybe 6 or more ARM 64 bit cores with Nvidia GPU IP, and benchmarks that will compete Against Haswell Core i3 CPUs, and, for sure, better than Iris Graphics!
Even if you remove their
Even if you remove their insane price markup, that system is nearly twice the price of a similarly performing intel based system. I cant see why anyone would want to buy this system, Especially if they want to game.
“But my computer is 5ghz! And
“But my computer is 5ghz! And has 8 processors”
The amount of stupid in this world is unlimited. $1500+ facebook machines exist for a reason.
It is a marketing chip
“Look
It is a marketing chip
“Look we also have very expensive cpus”
for really expensive systems
“Look AMD systems cost more than $1500. They must be good, like Intel”
I though most people would have understand that by now.
Doesn’t mean they are bad
Doesn’t mean they are bad either. THe problem is the OEM overpricing.
No it’s not the OEMs who
No it’s not the OEMs who overprice. AMD is overpricing because it WANTS to overprice. These chips are meant to be overpriced, are meant to be as much expensive as the top Intel, no matter the performance.
I think the chip may have
I think the chip may have much higher pricing due to yields because even though it has the 220w tdp i doubt many of their 8350s can take that sort of speed and power and perform flawlessly (e.g. No crashes etc) hence why the 9370 is much cheaper if im right, correct me if im wrong
