I’ve looked at that diamond-based TIM and it’s not that great spec-wise, it shows only 4.5W/mK thermal conductivity. They do say it’s 90% diamond mass-wise, but considering diamond is over 2000W/mK, in order to get at 4.5 average I’d say that the amount of diamond powder in the paste is very tiny. As far as I remember MX4 is close to 8 W/mk. I’m curious when it’s going to be commercially available diamond-based paste with some real diamond content, this seems far too low.
If you want to try something extreme try Indium foil it’s around 84W/mK, if you manage to apply it properly; it’s mandatory to sand CPU and waterblock surface and advised to apply it in as close to white room as possible.
