The Auction House for Diablo 3 is not going anywhere but an upcoming patch at least intends to limit its appeal. On August 21st, Blizzard announced the game's first expansion pack, "Reaper of Souls", along with a free patch for the base game to accompany its release. The most noted feature, at least for both Diablo III and its expansion, is the so-called "Loot 2.0". Blizzard hopes acquiring new items within the game will, once again, be more rewarding than trading.
Trading items, especially for real money, was designed as a last resort. Unofficial stores can be found scattered throughout the internet for other persistent multiplayer titles. These vendors could be shady, both for customers as well as their employees. A canonized auction house helps limits these outlets
A new mode, "Loot Run", will be included with the expansion. A randomly generated dungeon is created to provide about 15-20 minutes of pure treasure hunting. Each experience will be complete with an end boss which, too, will be entirely random for that instance. It does not seem like it will make it into the vanilla Diablo 3 patch.
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is expected to launch some time in 2014 following the free update to the base game.
D3 was just missing
D3 was just missing something.
The loot drops felt nerfed as if the extremely good stuff would rarely be there so you ended up with boat loads of just ok gear.
Sad to say, but I had so much more fun in Torchlight 2.
Meh. That just means Blizzard
Meh. That just means Blizzard is trying to milk more out of players. The only reason that the game didn’t get as much flak as SimCity because Blizzard had a better reputation than EA.
The issue with Diablo 3 was
The issue with Diablo 3 was that all but Inferno difficulty was trivial. Inferno itself was brutally difficult for most classes and Act-1 pretty much never dropped upgrades so people exploited, did death runs etc. to get beyond it. Blizzards answer was to give a minor loot boost and to vastly increase repair costs making it impossible to progress for the non-chosen classes.
Myself and everyone I knew quit, and as far as I’ve heard they never really fixed it. For me it killed Blizzard’s seemingly untouchable reputation: I won’t buy D3’s expac, I didn’t bother with SC2 Heart of the Swarm and its unlikely I’ll buy any of their future titles.
This guy pretty much nailed

I think this should have been
I think this should have been done earlier, it would be nice if they implemented this new loot system with the console release. I like the auction house, i think its fun trying to find good drops to sell and make gold. If you use a gold guide and know what to look for it can be quite fun.http://www.mmo-strategy-guides.com/diablo-3-gold-guides.html
