For other similar events, what about somewhere in Ontario, Canada?
I’d take the day off for this 🙂
Why do they always ignore the
Why do they always ignore the main issue with current DRM.
When ever DRM requires any connection to a server, even just once when installing, you have a product that is reliant on a server that is out of your control and can go down at any time.
what happens when the company decides to kill off the DRM servers and go out of business, or move onto something else. (walmart did it with their music service and it did not turn out very good)
When you have a product with an unnecessary point of failure (DRM requiring a connection to a server), then your product will at best only last as long as the company finds it to be profitable to run those DRM servers.
Would you buy a pacemaker that required a dirty pair of sneakers to be handing from the phone line in the bad part of town in order for it to run?
When you buy any game that has online DRM, you are gambling on you getting tired and never wanting to play the game again before the company kills the servers or goes out of business.
