Problem with the controller
Problem with the controller is that thumbsticks give you direct feedback on what you are doing, the resistance and self centering help orientate your thumbs on the controls. Thumbs are poor precision pointers anyways, its why we don’t use them on our touchpads, but for relative position controllers with a dead zone, devs can work around this. I think with touchpad thumbpads it will become more obvious you don’t really have the control you think, and will just be annoying and less useful for a range of things. Flight sim controls are great with joysticks vs mouse because its more a request for a certain speed of direction, not absolute position. and well, physical tends to work best for things like buttons, so mapping things to the pad would be silly, with buttons on a controller you always know where your thumb is just resting on the 4 button area
honestly I think this is more a publicity thing, doesn’t matter if it makes sense, they got you to talk about the steambox;)

Ryan, at least you got something out of that court process. Here, you get nothing. Hence why people try to stay away from all law related activities.
I wonder if they could sponsor PCper next time 😛 They will probably learn about what surrounds them 🙂
Ryan > Thank you for guiding people to use the correct form to win! 🙂
The new controller apparently is designed with multiple sensors. Which will be per-programmed by the game or/and configurable by the user.
Ha ha ha! “This is different Jeremy!” (sounds like something a parent would say)
Jeremy > You will probably like this one, as you could probably configure it in a way that feels natural.
Optical Drive? Yes I do!
Now, I use both in some scenario for boot-ups. Optical are read only, which has many advantages. And usually works with most old PC where USB is inactive by BIOS default, etc.
Cheers!
