Conclusion

Performance

XSPC seems to have a winning combination on their hands with their Raystorm 750 EX240 water cooling kit. They combined some of their best components into an easy to assemble kit. Its performance together definitely appears to be greater than the sum of its parts. With the updated X2O 750 V4 pump, the kit is able to maintain cooler performance without the need for the fan noise associated with the higher end air-based coolers.

Pricing

As of September 25, the XSPC Raystorm 750 EX240 Water Cooling kit was available at FrozenCPU.com for $149.99.

Conclusion

Before continuing with our final verdict on the Raystorm 750 EX240 water cooling kit, we would like to take this opportunity to give our friends at XSPC a hearty “Thank You” for giving us the pleasure and opportunity to review their full featured kit. To say that I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of this kit would be understating things. XSPC is well known in the enthusiast water cooling community with their products among the best in the market, as well as being some of the more affordable pieces. The kit itself was packed well, with all of the components well padded against harm. All parts were finely machined and without burrs or manufacturing defects of any kind, pointing to a high attention to detail on XSPC's part. And the kit itself included almost everything necessary to get the system up and running with little incident. XSPC even went the extra mile by including the LEDs necessary for back-lit effects and the hardware for hanging the radiator if desired. Performance-wise, the numbers speak for themselves with the XSPC kit able to hold its own against the other high-end cooler offerings.

The only minor issue I had was with the decision not to include coolant in with the kit. However, this kit is being marketed towards enthusiasts who will probably have their own preferred coolant (or home brew coolant like mine) making this issue even less relevant. While a 3×120 or 2×140 radiator may have provided the kit with a bit more performance, the included EX240 radiator performed admirably and without fault.  Note that XSPC does offer variants of this kit as well as standalone radiators in various sizes.
