A Detailed Look
The Pure Power Zone 1000W power supply features a scratch-resistant black matte finish and measures 175mm (6.8”) deep. The unit incorporates a single 135mm fan for cooling and all the cables are modular.
The backside panel features an open grill and includes a power receptacle and master On-Off switch. The honey comb grill allows air to exhaust out of the power supply for cooling the internal components with minimal turbulence and noise.
The Power Zone 1000W uses a Be Quiet! 135mm SilentWings fan (BQ SW3-13525-HHF-29). The 9 sculptured blades are designed to optimize airflow and reduce noise generating fan turbulence. The SilentWings fan is rated for up to 1.00A at 12 VDC and 2,900 rpm.
The front panel includes 11 sockets for the modular cables and 3 sockets for the included case fan cables. Connecting the PC’s case fans directly to the Power Zone PSU allows the fans to keep spinning for a few minutes after the system shuts down via the COOL*OFF feature. All of the modular power cables are covered with black, braided plastic mesh sleeving.

Under the Hood
After removing sixteen screws and three covers we can get a look inside the Power Zone 1000W. Be Quiet! appears to be using the HEC Group once again as the OEM for the Power Zone 1000W power supply (instead of Seasonic who is the OEM for the Dark Power Pro 10 we reviewed earlier this year). The overall component layout and build quality look good.
The two main capacitors (Teapo) on the primary are rated at 270uF, 450V, and 105°C. The secondary also features Teapo electrolytic caps for filtering.
