If you bought a collection of Disney movies to keep the kids placated this Christmas, Disney has a great holiday surprise for you. From what we have heard via [H]ard|OCP your Christmas specials are going to disappear from your library and your only *legal* way of watching these specials will be to order Disney TV and schedule your holidays around their chosen broadcast times. Before you aim all your vitriol at Disney, save a bit for Amazon as they are the providers that have agreed to allow Disney to pull an epic Scrooge move. When Disney first approached Amazon to be a distributor of their movies and shows Amazon agreed to allow Disney to pull the content whenever they felt like it. Aren't you glad you paid for those movies and shows now? Too bad there is no other way to get hold of them during the holidays and stop your children from crying.
"Disney has decided to pull access to several purchased Christmas videos from Amazon during the holiday season, as the movie studio wants its TV-channel to have the content exclusively. Affected customers have seen their videos disappear from their online libraries, showing once again that not everything you buy is actually yours to keep."

Get those kids some anime for christmas, and tell the house of Mouse, guma guma NO! There are plenty of Anime dubs, and they have many G rated titles, for the kids of geeks, and subs (the Geek Kids prefer Anime subs)! As well as the more risque scantily clad elf Anime honeys for the college bound highschool seniors, man that Anime Santa sure has it good!

This is why I don’t buy
This is why I don’t buy digital things unless they get stored on my hard drive! Besides, blu-ray is going to give you so much better quality!
And I agree, this only promotes piracy or at minimum, watching something else.
Didn’t Disney pull a bunch of
Didn’t Disney pull a bunch of movies from digital services in October as well? Not particularly surprising given their historical tactic of restricting availability of their VHS/DVDs to brief periods of time to keep prices inflated.
While I don’t mind DRM around services like Netflix and rentals, I won’t pay for content where someone else can restrict my access.

This is exactly why physical
This is exactly why physical media cannot be allowed to die. I may still be “renting” the content but at least I can watch it without fear of Disney unilaterally cancelling my “subscription!”
May want to make sure you have backups of anything stored in the “cloud” including your Steam games!
If Disney can do it so can anyone else.

Mostly unreIated but I bought one of the dvds for Dragons: riders of Berk, thinking it would be respectable quality back in that day and you know what I got for the dollars I sweat and bleed for? I paid $23 something dollars for four episodes of low quality trash. That was the day I stopped buying media of any kind and I don’t look back.
