I wanted to point out some
I wanted to point out some relevant DX9 games, since you asked.
Just about every Free2Play game is DX9 only. Very few support anything higher for compatibility reasons. Some F2P games worth mentioning are; War Thunder, Hawken, and PlanetSide 2. They are great games, have tons of people playing them and are DX9 only. EQ Next Landmark (which i keep hearing a lot about), will be DX9 when it launches in 2014. F2P games will continue on that path until XP is dead.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, and Payday 2 are just two excellent paid games that are DX9 only as well.
Let’s also not forget about Skywind, which is looking amazing, will be on DX9.
As much as we all want DX9 do die off, it does not seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
i just started using PFSense
i just started using PFSense at the beginning of this month because of an program called Squid. Squid does High performance web proxy cache, which will hopefully save my internet bandwidth, which is 10GB full speed and everything after is slow.
hope it helps.
Borderlands 2 is DX9 only,
Borderlands 2 is DX9 only, which still has DLC coming out.
Hey Josh/Ryan! – I think I
Hey Josh/Ryan! – I think I heard during the podcast that the AMD APU only had 1/2 the bus bandwidth of the R7 250.. I don’t believe that is correct. The R7 250 you used was 128-bit wide DDR3.. The AMD APU Kaveri has dual channel DDR3 support, and since each DDR3 DIMM is 64-bit.. same width as the R7 250.
The R7 250 you used had a bandwidth of 28.8GB/sec
I’m not sure why GPU-Z thought your APU was only 64-bit but it should be 128-bit. A single DDR3-2400 DIMM is good for 19.2GB/sec.. dual channel = 38.4GB/sec.. so if you populated both DIMM slots, Kaveri would have more bandwidth than the R7 250.
Hopefully your 7850 review has both slots populated so we can see what impact that has 🙂
Kaveri is dual channel (128-bit):

DDR3-800 = 6.4GB/sec; therefore DDR3-2400 is 19.2GB/sec:

After Scarlett Johansson, why don’t you guys have JJ from ASUS on again, GPU’s, before the next iteration of motherboards? He also is involved in a newer channel etc…. and like you, he is one of the best in the industry!
