According to Kara Swisher at Re/code, two of Microsoft's Executive Vice Presidents are leaving the company. Tony Bates, EVP of Business Development and Evangelism, and Tami Reller, EVP of Marketing, are expected to have their departure announced to the public on Tuesday. Tony Bates joined the company during the Skype acquisition in 2011, while Tami Reller has been with Microsoft since it acquired Great Plains Software in 2001. While Bates is expected to depart immediately, Reller is expected to remain for a while and "help with the transition".

Seeing the Microsoft reorganization, it should be quite obvious how expensive they can become. They are struggling to find a path for their products that their customers actually want to go down. At the same time, people seem to be flying in every direction. I just wonder if these are the final movements.
At the same time they
At the same time they continue to report record revenues and profits quarter after quarter. They do not seem to be affected by all the negative press. Given how much criticism the previous ceo received, he certainly did not seem to be bad for shareholders: The stock price is higher than ever these days. It is all very curious to me too.
And without IBM
And without IBM self-destruction.
A lot of “older” companies
A lot of “older” companies are doing this too — look at US defense stocks also. Cut cut cut, and for a lot of quarters/a few years you’ll make some improvements in your bottom line that the stock market will reward..
Your first few profit shrinks the market will still reward because the corporation will use the term “restructuring charge” to claim why they had less profit.
Eventually then the corporation comes to a culture crisis — the people who don’t like the current culture and have talent will almost always leave; so the newer culture either changes to pick them up or gives them the cold shoulder.. and longer term the corporation is bankrupt from it’s truly best performers..
M$ can reorg all they want,
M$ can reorg all they want, but that is not going to remove Android, and other OSs from the market, including giving away windows for free! It is more about control over the OS and software for mobile device OEMs and Android for phones is too well entrenched at this time. Android and its ecosystem have grown too large in market share for M$ to ever dominate by embraceing the idea of a free OS, and attempting to extend their control into the mobile devices OS market to extinguish the competition. The free/low cost OS has been standard for tablets and Phones from day one, and M$ in its eternal late to the party way, is just now realizing this. Even windows 9 is not going to bring Munich and other cities back to M$’s “friendly” embrace, and M$ should be trying to get some of its productivity applications working on Linux, and other OSs, and not just OS X! Any hardware that is tied to only one OS, without the option of running other OSs, is only going to wind up as landfill, as most people will always want to run apps that may not be available for the device’s default OS, and even mobile devices SOCs support hardware OS virtualization so the days of running just one, and only one OS on any device are coming to a close.
M$…Windoze yada yada
M$…Windoze yada yada yada…we get it.
They still make several BILLIONS of dollars per quarter NET profit.
Their NET PROFIT margins are higher than Apple`s too…always have been.
Who cares, as long as they
Who cares, as long as they are driven off of the forced install on new devices, and we no longer have to pay the M$ tax! With most new devices using android and users able to sideload a full Linux distro! Many chrome devices are selling to people that will load a Linux distro and get around the M$ tax! Steam OS will be available for gaming, and it will have low level hardware support for the graphics drivers, and DX *.* will no longer be usefull to keep gamers tied to M$’s empire of Sad! No one cares about M$’s profit margins, they just want a desktop OS, and not a phone OS on their PCs and laptops, and more cities around the world will be doing what Munich has done, and give M$ the big Kiss Off, and good riddence!
Bates needs to go…The Verge
Bates needs to go…The Verge guy lambasted him for his horrible implementation of Skype on Macs at a live forum.
WP OS is also treated as a second-class citizen by Bates…Hell , they OWN Skype and under his leadership Skype has been horrible.
BTW…cool Seasonic Topre KB
BTW…cool Seasonic Topre KB ad…talk about relevant advertising.
Every bare wall is just more
Every bare wall is just more ad space for M$, as the dis-kinect from an ad free existence becomes harder, what’s next underwear ads in you dreams!
