i think ryan is still not
i think ryan is still not understanding the probleme with gameworks, even if the developper pay the licence for the code and have access to it, the developper is under NDA and cannot tell AMD the code for them to fix it, so in the end nvidia will fix the code for the developper for the AMD hardware without AMD being able to optimise it the way they want, but the way Nvidia or the devs want.
and if you guys dont think this is a real issue then lol, or should AMD pay for the licence for every effect at every game to be able to optimise it ?
the implementation of gameworks is retarded.
I want to call BS on the
I want to call BS on the nVidia providing source thing. Forbes quoted Nvidia’s Cem Cebenoyan:
“The way that it works is we provide separate levels of licensing,” Cebenoyan explains. “We offer game developers source licensing, and it varies whether or not game developers are interested in that. Now, like any other middleware on earth, if you grant someone a source license, you grant it to them. We don’t preclude them from changing anything and making it run better on AMD.”
The “different levels” Sounds like nVidia will pay you to use the middleware, or you can pay nVidia to see the source code. Definately different than anyone who uses GameWorks being able to see the source code. Also, the different in performance of 1 ms in a 16.7 (60 FPS) frame time drops you to 56.6 FPS (17.7 ms) which is about 5.6%.
It’s Vendor A’s Graphics
It’s Vendor A’s Graphics Mafia, the fix was in, and no one dared to go against the Don’s NDA! There were 2 sets of driver Books, one for Vendor A, and One for the rest of the you Mooks! Hay Vinny, you somethin’ ’bout any source code? Vinny: I don’t Know nothin’ ’bout no source code!
