PCMark Vantage and 7
For trace based testing, we are replacing the outdated PCMark 05 results with a pair of newer versions of the same. PCMark Vantage and PCMark 7 results will be included moving forward. We are also running PCMark 8 on samples as we receive them, however we do not yet have sufficient comparative data to make a useful chart. Vantage results tend to be higher as they show more of a raw / peak type of result measured during the trace, while 7 shows more of an averaged value over the time duration of the trace. Translation: Vantage shows max throughput while 7 shows how that throughput impacts overall system performance.
Here we see the M6M doing very well. Matching the performance of its full size brothers and even squeaking past the Vertex 460 in some tests.
As always Allan, great
As always Allan, great review. In the day and age of multiple storage options, I do have a hard time differentiating results in the tests provided. For relevance sake, and this is only a question, try and reduce compared drives for easier understandability. As in top 2 direct corporation drives (by connection type and $/Gb) and one of the others; ie SATA, mSATA, PCIe, M.2. With the ever expanding storage market,It’s getting flooded, and just want easier to discern choices. In any case, you house at PCper rock! Keep up the excellent work and keep asking question as to what happens next.
