While not fully in effect yet, AMD is cutting $500 off of the R9 295X2 price tag to $999 USD. Currently, there are two models available on Newegg USA at the reduced price, and one at Amazon for $1200. We expect to see other SKUs reduce soon, as well. This puts the water-cooled R9 295X2 just below the cost of two air-cooled R9 290X graphics cards.
If you were interested in this card, now might be the time (if one of the reduced units are available).

Looks like the 295×2 are going fast @ $999.99

Everything Nvidia can do, AMD
Everything Nvidia can do, AMD can do cheaper, 999 vs 1999(OEMs only), if you’re not an OEM that’s 3 dual GPU core, with water cooling R9 295X2s for the price of one Titan Z, 3 to 1, for AMD, and the home system builder, what would 3 R9 295X2s get in the benchmarks, if they could even be on the same motherboard(?), compared to just one Titan Z, and a completely empty bank account.
I’m not sure if you can link
I’m not sure if you can link 3 295x2s together. Wouldn’t that be 6 way crossfirex? Can you do that?
Sadly, this is more case of
Sadly, this is more case of AMD “has to do cheaper”, rather than “can do cheaper”.
Also, the Titan Z was never a direct competitor to the 295X2. Just as anyone buying the 295X2 is thinking “Titan Z gaming performance for half the money”, anyone getting a Titan Z will be thinking “2x Quadro K6000 compute for half the money.”
Nvidia marketed the titan z
Nvidia marketed the titan z to gamers only. If you remember correctly then you would know during the titan z reveal they mentioned nothing about the professional market, only the gaming market. Nvidia would rather sell titan z to gamers, they want professionals to buy quadro. Nvidia fanboys like to claim that the titan z and 295×2 aren’t competing products because blah blah blah. The 295×2 performs better than the titan z and costs half as much, only a true nvidiot would ignore these facts. Nvidia like to take advantage of people with more money than sense, and allow the rabid nvidiots to protect their brand on the interwebs.
Well Said good sir! Very well
Well Said good sir! Very well said! I used to be an Nvidiot FanBoy then when I had so much crap with the Kepler GTX 660Ti like faulty silicon faulty PCB’s I just gave up and to AMD’s Similarly priced HD7870XT (HD7930) Still rocking it, works wonders. (I game on a tight budget!)
And they’ll also be thinking
And they’ll also be thinking 2x the 7970GHz computing power for 10 times the money !
