Techspot posted a review of the unreleased Lian Li PC-05S case over the weekend, and as you can see it’s a lot more interesting than the generic name might suggest.
The case features aluminum construction (of course – it’s a Lian Li!) and a tempered glass side to showcase the build. And what better way to show off a build than hanging it on the wall like a picture? Well, the reviewer didn’t show this but the case is described as a “wall mountable open-air chassis” by Lian Li on their site. Overall, Techspot liked the PC-05S and called it “a beautiful case that is well-designed inside and out”.
Looks great on a desk!
At just over 14 lbs (without components) this will require some planning to mount on a wall. The dimensions (WHD) are 15.1” x 18.3” x 5.8”, and it has a similar layout to Steam Machine cases like the SilverStone RV01 which we reviewed back in January. Like the RV01, the PC-05S requires a mini-ITX motherboard and orients the GPU at a 90° angle (via an included ribbon adapter) to fit in such a slim enclosure. The PC-05S also requires an SFX power supply (such as the SilverStone SX600-G we reviewed recently) and supports 240mm radiators.
Many more photos and full specs are available on the main product page, and the Lian Li PC-05S is slated for a February 2015 release. The cost? $319.
Oh look, another hilariously
Oh look, another hilariously overpriced Lian Li case.
What glue are these guys sniffing?
Well its a nice looking case,
Well its a nice looking case, but 320$ for the smallest one? Really?
There are no grommets for the
There are no grommets for the cut outs at these prices?
Lame.
How do these people stay in business?

We’ll I gota say that is a NIIIIIIIIIIce lookin case, i love the psu/gpu placement, but (and sorry if I sound stupid but) how exactly do you install the gpu flat to the mb like that? Is it a diffrent class of mb? Is it an attachment, and if so is there bandwith loss?
It’s a form of PCI-E riser.
It’s a form of PCI-E riser. In this case, it’s a ribbon, and it shouldn’t incur any “loss”.
right, I see it now, just not
right, I see it now, just not something I’ve ever run into before. That’s what I love about the pc world, you can have 30 years + experience and still see something so simple that is totally new and can totally blow your mind.
So that’s a Mini-ITX board
So that’s a Mini-ITX board then?
Yes it is!
Yes it is!
What happened to Lian-Li?

You guys don’t get it..It’s
You guys don’t get it..It’s not about the price, but the aesthetics!
I’d love to utilize a case like this in my work environment.
It makes a statement to your customers. It say chic! It says “We know what we are doing”. It says “we are better than you!”
Just saying…
the quality of your work says
the quality of your work says you know what you are doing….or it should.
“we are better than you” is this how you think about other people?
Well, right of wrong,
Well, right of wrong, sometimes in business appearance is more important than substance. often times potential clients have very little to base their choice on other than very quick tidbits of info, and fancy looking bling makes a statement of superiority, WHICH I might add is a good thing because you want someone you pay to do a service to be better than you. If I hire a roofer he sure as shit better be better at roofing than me, right? So while the educated consumer will research, the average consumer will “Go with the gut”, and “Going with the gut” can be manipulated.
It’s not nice but it’s the way it is.
(just to be clear it’s wrong to have a superiority complex, but it’s good to appear superior to those looking for to you for assistance)
I agree you gota blow your
I agree you gota blow your own horn and look neat in any business….just not the way he was saying haha.
superior skills.. yes
superior asshole… no
Well yea it’s expensive, but
Well yea it’s expensive, but if you had a massive budget to put together a “Power” office, the place to show off some important business exec, where form is more important than function, this would look awesome, especially wall mounted next to a wall mounted 4k 29″ monitor. It’s not in my price-range but I can see a place for it in the market.
yea im sure people will fork
yea im sure people will fork out for it.
Im just used to building bang for the buck rigs. I hunt down the coolest stuff for the best price. Just cause its pretty doesn’t mean you can’t afford it. I like everyone to have a nice box they can feel fuzzy about and show off, without forking over a 1,000+++++ for it.
cause that really is 90% of the custom market.
Agreed, but the way my wife
Agreed, but the way my wife likes to put it these PCs are my model trains. I love to build what I can afford, and I love to obsessively study every thing I can’t.
My design is
