"Few products have generated as much hype and interest as the MSI GT80 Titan Gaming laptop. Kitguru was the first major publication to cover the new laptop when we flew over to Taipei last November. LEO then got his hands on an early pre retail sample for KITGURU TV back in December."

All that hardware for a 1080p
All that hardware for a 1080p screen? Ugh, there are ultra books with 4k screens, would a 1440p IPS screen be too much to ask for?
MSI’s reasoning was because
MSI’s reasoning was because of the screen size, and no options for a higher resolution at that size.
What I’ve wondered is wouldn’t having only a 1080P screen mean a longer, useful lifespan? I get that the cards are powerful, but I can’t imagine 3-4K resolutions aging well, performance wise.
Corect me if I’m wrong, but
Corect me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it possible with the 2x 980m to render at the higher resolution then down scale it to the 1080p screen? From what I’ve seen on desktop versions the quality difference is pretty significant.
still the ugliest thing i’ve

For those complaining about
For those complaining about the screen, get a life and do your research. Thats the only type of screen avail to 18 inch models across the board. There is only one 17 inch model and it’s by MSI that I’m aware of, that carries a higher resolution. The higher resolutions just are not on the market. The Alienwares 18 with less specs and same screen type are over 4 grand and they are now discontinued. The screen is beautiful when playing games. All you need is the 1080 for most games anyways. I play battlefield 4 and World of Warcraft no problems on Ultra settings and the system stays cool with a great cooling system. The keyboard is perfect on the laptop where it is and it comes with a nice comfy palm rest. I can play all day on this thing if I wanted to. This is well worth the money.
